He’s drunk a river and he’ll drink a river again
The waitress bends to fill his cup it’s 2.45 she’ll looking up she has to get to school to pick up little Finley

He gets a hard time from the other boys, cos he doesn’t have the latest gadgets and toys and some times his cloths are a little scruffy.
But there’s always another job to do but that’s it at 3 o’clock she’s through and if the boss doesn’t like it he can shove it

But the Irish man with the crocadile shoes say’s ‘excuse me miss I don’t mean to be rude, you look tired but you look so beautiful’.
She blushes a little to her surprise and wipes her hair from her auburn eyes, dam why did he pick now to smile at her
But there’s a softness in his callused hands something we all could understand it’s just a river running through her

All of a sudden she’s back growing up right back where she came from
Playing out by that muddy river
